Would you rather have a cup of tea or become dependent upon pills?

When I ask friends and family this question, the most common response was jokingly: “A cup of tea, even though I’d prefer coffee.” So many people complain and object about drugs and potential dependency and yet they forget the option of returning to natural remedies from the planet around where they live.

Our ancestors and ancient cultures knew effective remedies and practical ways to live. Two cultures I want to draw to your attention come from opposite sides of the planet. Ayurveda is a 5,000-year-old traditional medicine system from India. The other method consists of general remedies coming from the Seminole people of Florida. Both recognize the importance of balance and the fact that not all therapies work for all people.

Ayurveda

Western society may find it difficult to grasp Ayurveda and its Sanskrit terms. For this reason, I wrote the primer, Ayurveda Demystified and included the basics in Ancient Wisdoms, Exploring the Mysteries and Connection. Our body is composed of three energy forces in varying strengths–we are unique. Upsets and ailments of our body are simply an imbalance of these energy forces. An initial remedy brings these forces back into balance.

For example, one force, the movement, responds to foods that are sweet, sour and salty. The second force handles all the processing, in the body, requiring foods that are sweet, astringent and bitter. The last force, storage, responds to pungent, astringent and bitter foods.

This system of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) is used to supplement, rather than replace modern technology. There are many examples and remedies but one example might be a person who is worrying, cannot sleep or has lower back pain. This person would benefit from foods that are moist and warm such as beets or carrots (NOT cabbage).

Seminoles

According to the Seminoles, peppermint helps heal congestion

The Seminole people are joyous of the wonders of the world; they look at the world differently than you and I. Some of the remedies we might find in herbal or naturopathic studies. I do recommend that before launching into a study or usage program that you check with these health practitioners. In Ancient Wisdoms, I listed only 33 remedies that were in regions where Alice Snow lived. Here I list both the plant remedies and ailments that we still find today. It illustrates how both transcend time.

Peppermint – for congestion

Bay – main ingredient in modern medicines

Sassafras – cough or diarrhea

Quail bean plant – for high blood pressure

Deer ear plant – arthritis

Long ghost hair — depression

Water hemlock – arthritic pain or itch

Forces of your body and plants of your planetary region will give you more information and good health. Ancient Wisdoms provides guidance.

Have you ever thought of the T shape, or your culture’s variant, as a way to determine the current season or sun cycle?

In ancient traditions going back more than 5,000 years, the T shape represents air, the wind and the divine breath of God. The gods may differ, but each civilization chose images paralleling one another. These variations were always a part of the community’s agriculture. In agricultural communities, we observed ancient doorways or windows molded in this shape. This guided the sun rays in such a way that people could observe angles and intensity. These observations did not matter whether the societies lived next door to each other or on opposite sides of the globe.

It was an exciting discovery for my last book, Ancient Wisdoms, Exploring the Mysteries and Connections, to learn that different societies used variations in many forms – agriculture, writing, art, or architecture. It did not matter whether the people are Mayan, Peruvians, Egyptians, Phoenicians and Chaldeans. A “T”, ankh, “Tau”, “taol” or “te” are all icons meaning “hidden Wisdom”.

The more I delved into meanings and interpretations; I learned that all signify hidden wisdom, rejuvenation and immortality. Each society calls for rejuvenation, freedom from physical suffering, hope immortality and divine unity. Since these are universal needs, it makes sense that somehow communities would develop images matching those of cultures living elsewhere on the planet. There was never a need to live so close to another community that ideas could be copied. Intuition brought these ideas together.

DID YOU KNOW THAT THREE ANIMALS OF FLIGHT CARRY THE SAME TEN PROPHETIC GUIDELINES AROUND THE PLANET?

Prior to writing Ancient Wisdoms, I saw a large white feather as I came out of a meditation. Then, I came to understand it could come from an owl, a dove or a butterfly, depending upon the lesson needed. Cultures around the globe give similar meanings to these animals of flight. The owl carries the knowledge of time through generations, teaching us the value and meaning in our current life. The dove reminds us of the importance of bringing peace and harmony into our lives. And the butterfly teaches us how to incorporate this wisdom into our lives, merging with our environment as we transform or change ourselves or the world around us.

As I perused the wisdom of various cultures, I discovered that each society has their own version of the Ten Guidelines. Commercial cultures focus upon business success but when we look at simpler, peaceful civilizations, we see that they carry similar Guidelines.

The Hopi of Southwest United States say:

Take care of Month Earth and the other colors of man.

Respect Mother Earth and creation.

Honor all life, and support that honor.

Be grateful from the heart for all life. It is through life that there is survival.

Love and express that love.’

Be humble. Humility is the gift of wisdom and understanding.

Be kind with one’s self and with others.

Share feelings and personal concerns and commitments

Be honest with one’s self and with others.

Be responsible for these sacred instructions and share them with other nations.

The Waitaha of New Zealand say:

All born of the stars were brothers and sisters, kin within one family.

Honor them, as you honor the ancestors down through the ages.

Humility brings true strength.

Every aspect of all life is important. Accept responsibility for your mistakes; do not blame others.

Respect and protect all trees and products of the earth.

A young mind bends to the curve of the magic jawbone.

Healing brings responsibilities.

Sadness, pain and anger have no place beside those who tend the plants.

The calm mind is the growing mind.

Through relationships and respect, we can find the way forward.

The cultures of the Philippines say:

Must not steal

Do not tell false stories

Do not court another’s wife.

Respect the rights of others.

Give food to visitors

Teach children old legends and customs

Honor and learn the complete system of social etiquette.

Do no harm

Honor all life and all cultures

Respect dead and ancestors.

These are only three (of many) cultures carrying similar lessons. I think I can say that all cultures taught the same lesson and one of these lessons is:

Once you accept the rights of every living thing, tree, animal or human to exist according to their place in the life path, it is impossible, NOT to love.

Personally, I am excited about the coming year and the potential gifts it contains, just like modern seasonal festivities. So many people interpret the summation of the Mayan Calendar as an end calendar, therefore the end of life on the Earth. What they forget is this is only ONE phase or cycle of 5,000 years, the equivalent of a year in our current calendar. The Aztec culture shows the oldest evidence of this chronological system. Their process shows four solar ages of 26,000 years each, which include the Greek Pleiadian sisters:

Alcyone,

Merope,

Maya,

Asterope,

Taygeta,

Celaeno,

Electra.

Although, the Maya and their ancestors understood and utilized the relationship to each of the “sisters,” they did not refer to it in terms routinely used by us. They knew this link relates to how long we stay in what we call Galactic Light, the Photon Band.

The concept of a “Photon” became popular around 1920. What is it?

PHOTON BAND

This is a constant band of energy, consisting of minute units of intense light. It cuts through each rotation a planet takes around our Sun. An exciting observation tells us the astrological timing of the earth’s movement in and out of the photon band correlates with the estimated dates of cultural disappearances as estimated by the Maya calendar. As I wrote Ancient Wisdoms and my previous book, Within & Beyond, my spirit friends said:

Knowing we are entering the photon band reminds us of the unification of all beings and a reminder of the original residents of the planet. All events lead forward so that we understand how to return to the love and cooperation that is so much a part of the universe. It is back to the beginning, back to basics and back to the light.

If you visualize several circles, with two lines equally cutting through them approximately 2,000 years apart, you see a Photon Band. When our planet moved through this Band, this is when we enjoyed a positive, upbeat culture. The remaining time was when we were in what we call “Galactic Dark,” time of oppressed, violent societies.

For more information, pick my latest book Ancient Wisdoms, Exploring the Mysteries and Connections.

Picture yourself coming out of a meditation with these words echoing in your ear: “It is time to connect cultures of the four corners of the world; they know the truth.” Do you have any idea what you would do with this knowledge if you accepted the task to expose it?

In many respect this lesson did not surprise me, but the emotion and power of the words did. At this particular time, we had completed a brief visit to the American Hopi Land. The previous year I spent time in Mexico studying Maya culture. Indigenous Nations from around the world, including the Dogon of Africa continually attract me. I certainly understood the relationship between these three cultures but the knowledge of the four corners was missing. Within months, I heard messages from the Kogi of Columbia and the Waitaha of New Zealand, completing the four corners. Every time I open a book or hear a speaker from one of these cultures, I hear similar information. Speakers all said:

We need to understand our past first.

Do no harm, honor all life, all cultures, living and departed

The earth is losing its strength, it is decaying

Elders from these cultures now speak out and many additional societies share similar teachings. The dilemma our society faces is that over time some indigenous nations succeeded in carrying forward tradition, adapting it to technological environments while we missed out.

I find independent writers referring to separate cultures but I had not found any writings that showed just how we link societies and mankind.

It is important to know how mankind is one and how we all live in hope. Three partial quotes are:

…We will be able to understand our future only if we understand our past first. Life is.

…The people of all colors join to bind what was broken and live in hope.

…It is time to blend and sing a united chorus.

Through research, I discovered the urgency and importance of this message coming through meditation. Elders of our Indigenous nations carry it and it is now up to us to apply to our world. Protecting the planet and sharing the wisdom of ancient cultures is vital.

Note: At the time I heard this message I was with a friend, Lynn Allen, exploring the Hopi lands of Utah / Colorado / New Mexico / Arizona. Lynn “flew away on a Heron’s wing” (the Hopi analogy) on Feb. 24, 2011. She was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer, level 4, just weeks before her death. She is the one who spearheaded the book Ancient Wisdoms, Exploring the Mysteries and Connections. A day later I “heard” from her that the next book title will be Ancient Wisdoms II, the First Voices of British Columbia.
